Five years ago, three scientists asked a radical question — what if a wetland could tell us exactly what it needs? WetlandNeuron was born to find out.
In 2019, wetland ecologist Dr. Amara Singh and computational neuroscientist Dr. Tomás Reyes were both working on seemingly unrelated problems — one trying to predict mangrove die-back events, the other modeling emergent behavior in neural networks. A chance meeting at a conference in Miami changed everything.
They realized the mathematical structures governing neural communication were eerily similar to the nutrient and chemical signaling patterns found in complex wetland ecosystems. Both systems were fundamentally about information flow, feedback loops, and adaptive response. The hypothesis was radical, the implications enormous.
